The Selbstlader M1916 Factory is a primary weapon for the Medic class in Battlefield 1.
In-Game Text[]
Originally designed for use on planes, this German semi-automatic rifle is known for its high accuracy.
History[]
Created by Paul Mauser, the M1916 is the final evolution of a line of semi-automatic, recoil-operated rifles developed by the German inventor. Although the development process was costly, and not just in Reichsmarke (tests of the first semi-automatic rifle took one of Mauser's eyes), it did result in the Selbstlader-Karabiner Mauser M 1916. Complicated and finicky, the weapon was infamous for its ability to attract dirt and grime, jamming and refusing to work. Moreover, the fixed barrel assembly gave it recoil far above its competitors. For these reasons, the M 1916 - accurate as it was - was replaced in its intended role with paired Mondragons.
