In-Game Text[]
The Russian 1895 was one of the last lever-action rifles to see large-scale use in combat.
History[]
An American design imported by the Russian Empire, the Winchester Model 1895 was the strongest of the lever-action rifles in Winchester's design stable and the last of its kind designed by the prolific John Browning. The Russian Empire was the biggest client of Winchester Repeating Arms Company, ordering over 300 000 rifles between 1915 and 1917, amounting to 70% of the rifle's total production run. Though infamously picky about the rifles (the Empire could very well reject a unit because the wood in the stock wasn't just right), it was used widely by Finnish and Baltic troops fighting for the Empire.
