In-Game Text[]
A true gun of the Old American West. The No. 3 is a classic top-break single-action revolved and saw action during WW1 in various forces.
History[]
First adopted by the U.S. Army in 1870, No. 3 is notable for being the first standard-issue cartridge-based revolver in the service of the American military. Replacing black powder cap and ball revolvers, the No. 3 was a modern, break-top design that enjoyed popularity among both American troops and the denizens of the Wild West. The No. 3 was sold off by the U.S. Army after the Spanish-American War in 1898, but some were put in service in the United Kingdom, as Pistol, Old Pattern. Though they were American designs, British troops dubbed them Spanish Webleys, for the reloading method. Italy and France also used the No. 3, making it a truly international sidearm.
