In-Game Text[]
An M1911 pistol that has been equipped with a stock and extended magazine.
History[]
The M1911 is the proudest, most accomplished child of gunsmith patron saint John Moses Browning. Chambered in .45 Auto Colt Pistol, it is a single-action, semi-automatic, recoil-operated pistol with a box magazine providing eight shots. Scarcely two more than a revolver, but more than enough to send a Hun to meet his maker. It was, after all, built with stopping power in mind after the experiences of U.S. Army units in fighting Moro rebels during the Philippine-American War. The semi-automatic M1911 won over other designs in the competition for the next service pistol of the U.S. military forces, and when the American Expeditionary units landed in France to battle the Huns in 1918, they carried these into battle.
The Extended variant turns the M1911 into a carbine, providing increased control and accuracy for an already powerful weapon.
