History[]
The Frommer Stop is unique not just in appearance, but also in function. Designed by Rudolf Frommer and manufactured by the Fémáru-, Fegyver és Gépgyár (FÉG) (Metalware, Weapons and Machine Factory) in Budapest, the Stop is a long-recoil semiautomatic chambered in 7.65mm. Few pistols make use of this principle, where the barrel and lock move rearwards together, with most designers opting to utilize the short recoil principle. It was no obstacle for the Hungarian Royal Army, which adopted it as the Pisztoly 12M in 1912. The Stop remained in service in various forms and variants until 1945 and the occupation of Hungary by the Red Army and the Soviet Union.
The Auto modification of the Frommer turns it into a miniature submachine gun with a truly terrifying rate of fire and uncontrollable behavior due to its low weight.
