Designed in the German Empire, this distinctive weapon has seen countless wars and numerous variants, with a total of one million authorized units made, while substantial numbers of pirated C96s were manufactured in Spain and China for local wars. Firing the 7.63x25mm Mauser round, the C96 was prized for its range, accuracy, and stopping power, contributing to its popularity and production numbers, with no less than 200,000 units ordered by the Central Powers and more than 90% delivered.
