Popular with British officers who could pick their own sidearms, this revolver which utilizes recoil to rotate its cylinder and cock its hammer after every shot.
History[]
The Webley-Fosbery Self-Cocking Automatic Revolver was a peculiar attempt to create a semi-automatic revolver. The characteristic zig-zag pattern on the cylinder was required for guiding powerful .455 Webley Mk II cartridges into position. The claim that the revolver was popular with British officers isn't particularly accurate, as the initial run of 5,000 units failed to sell and the revolver was discontinued, with surplus units still available for purchase from Webley as late as 1939.
